Surveys of your development site and surrounding area

Before you begin any construction project, you need to consider any potential risks to your build, as well as the impact on any neighbouring land or businesses. One of the main benefits of an aerial survey using Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) or ‘drones’ is the ability to view a large site from above.

GECC offers aerial photography services, partnering with experienced, licensed operators, who are also qualified surveyors. A detailed geological survey would be carried out, which includes mapping the site and access points (for plant and equipment), plus we will assess land movement. We can produce stills and video footage of your development site using a high definition camera.

All the operatives we work with have permission to fly UAVs commercially and are fully qualified (CAA approved).

Commercial Construction Surveys

  • Site Analysis and Land Survey: From ground level up to 400ft, vertically displaying elevated imagery, UAVs can record this useful imagery.
  • Construction Progress: From the pre-build stage and throughout the development, right up to final completion, our UAV partners will record all progress.
  • 3D Modelling: To determine measurements for potential building areas, and to both understand and evaluate the existing topography of the land, we can create a 3D model using accurate photogrammetry data.

Land Surveys

  • Orthomosaic Land Survey: An orthophotograph uses georeferencing to measure true distances, creating an accurate representation of the terrain. Unlike an uncorrected aerial photograph, images are combined as a mosaic creating a clear image of a large area. An orthomosaic land survey provides images with the same lack of distortion as a map.
  • Site Photography: To accompany planning submissions or for marketing purposes, a UAV can provide elevated photography portfolios for potential development land.
  • 3D Land Modelling: To produce an interactive 3D Model, UAVs can carry out aerial drone surveys of land, as well as river basins.
